Mental Development

Education is a major component in preparation for self-sufficiency and employability. Our essential education plan contains over 35 practical life skills classes to obtain the necessary skills needed to become a responsible, independent adult as well as preparation for childbirth, adoption and/or parenting.

A resident will:   

  1. Pursue education by attending a local school, enrolling in an online school, taking GED classes, attending student success classes, taking college credit or certificate courses, or another career training option.
  2. Seek and obtain employment (balanced with a school schedule).
  3. Develop valuable life skills including professionalism, job skills, resume, and interviewing skills.
  4. Participate in parenting classes, financial classes, and other classes designed for healthy growth and development that are offered through the home.
